Using Windows Live Writer with WordPress and XML-RPC Services
My writer of choice is Windows Live Writer Blog. The main reason I like it is that it supports the pasting of Screen Caps and other images very effectively. I use a lot of screen shots in my posts, and not having to save every one as a file, and having WLW do this for me is great. I recently moves Stuff I Geek With to my own server and wanted to continue using it. When I tried to connect I got the following error message.
This is the link that walked me through the process described below. The image can be misleading as it tells you to enable the services at http://stuffigeekwith.com/StuffIGeekWith/wp-admin/options-writing.php but in more recent versions of Wordpress this can be done with a simple checkbox. MK has taken care of the walkthrough, but I thought I would post a screenshot of where the setting is.
This worked instantly and I wrote this post using WLW.
